SYTEK AND DAVIES

Folk-Rock singer/songwriters Jane Sytek and Rick Davies will be performing one very special show at (venue)______________ on (date) ________________.  With a sound that at times harkens back to the late 60’s experimental folk music scene, this popular acoustic duo will be featuring songs from their latest album, entitled “From the Shadow of The Citadel” (May  2005). The project is the duo’s first CD release in 10 years, and is comprised of songs written during their passionate and high profile 7-year legal battle to protect a small boy who was in peril in Michigan.  Their advocacy was successful, and the boy was adopted by a loving family.

With the release of their new disc, the couple is preparing a tour that will feature radio promotion and concerts around the USA and further.

The show, which features both musicians on vocals, also showcases various flutes, whistles, hammered dulcimer, 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars, and percussion.  Sytek and Davies combine their varied backgrounds in folk, jazz, classical, rock and world music to create one of the most unique sounds in modern music.  Often referred to as “Fusion Folk”, their multi-instrumental performances have been well received throughout the USA and Canada.   WYCE Radio  (MI) called Sytek and Davies “..a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience.”  The Music Paper (NY) said “…these songs have the feel and stateliness of centuried old folk classics.” Black Hawk College (Ill) said “awesome…your music and spirit touch people in beautiful ways.”

 

When not touring the couple continue to work in their home state on important social issues, and have also recently appeared on a compilation CD to raise money for the homeless population in Chicago.
